The book “Change the World with Love” by Wolfgang Peter Schmidt […] takes us to his school project “Mushapo” in the DR Congo. At the beginning, the author describes the everyday life in and the historical contexts of this country and thus gives a good overview of the possibilities of his help. His vision: to provide children in a poor country with education, which should lead to self-help. Together with his wife, an on-site team, many supporters at home and abroad, and the association “Aktive Direkt Hilfe e. V.,” he can put this project into practice. In doing so, he tries to make the impossible possible and documents it with many situations and photos. What inner drive helps him not to give up and to keep going despite failures? His great love for God and the people, but also his remarkable organizational skills. As a Christian missionary, he seeks practical solutions to give disadvantaged people a better life, especially children.
This book is a documentation of love, and the appeal to help is touching, encouraging and needs the support of all of us who are fortunate enough to live in a prosperous country. It was given to me with the question, “Is this project still worth supporting?” After all that I have read in the book and have been able to research about the association “Aktive Direkt Hilfe e. V.,” my answer is YES. Here the saying proves true: Love can move mountains. Therefore, I will gift the book to friends. It is worth it!
